About 6 years ago, I got a Recaro Orthopedic seat in my car. The Recaro orthopedic seats are rather expensive, but even the lower end Recaro's can be better than the stock seats provided with many vehicles. There are also less expensive imitations of the Recaro. My seat has 3 inflatable bags in the area around the lumbar region that let you tailor the shape of the seat (available with manual or power inflation). It also has a heater to warm your back (which admitedly doesn't work anymore) and a fair amount of adjustments. Whether you can add adjustable tilt and seat height is installation dependant on the brackets available for you model of car. A good dealer will work with you and will actually take the seat apart and help you to customize the shape of it to your body. I believe they would also be willing to make modifications to your existing seats, including the installation of the adjustable air bag cushions. A place called Dan Rogers Upholstery at 1645 El Camino Real in San Carlos (415) 593-8288 did this for me (again this was many years ago, but I think they are still around). I originally bought my seat from another dealer that did a poor job of fitting it to my body and I complained to Recaro and they sent me to Dan Rogers. So it is important to find a good dealer. Before I got my seat I was unable to take long trips in the car at all without excruciation back pain and discomfort. I no longer have any back problems at all associated with driving. Rob
