Glare is frequently a problem encountered by computer users. Reflection of ceiling
lights or windows in the monitor are the common culprits of glare. Reflection off of light
surfaces, such as walls, furniture, clothing, etc., may also cause screen glare. Light
fixtures directly above the operator can dim the characters with blurred reflections
generated in the phosphor layer, Thus it is preferable to install the light fixtures
parallel to and on either side of the computer work station.
Repositioning or tilting the work station typically will remove sources of glare
from the line of sight. The display screen face should be at right angles to windows and
light sources.
Window glare can be reduced by using baffles, venetian blinds, draperies, shades,
or filters.
Walls and work surfaces visible around the screen should be painted a medium color
and have a nonreflective finish to limit reflection.
Antiglare filters that attach directly to the surface of a VDT screen can help
reduce glare.

Glare, Insufficient contrast and imperfect resolution are of greater concern then ever
before in today's computerized work environment. Resultant eyestrain, fatigue, blurred
vision and headaches cause VDT user discomfort and lowered productivity. Another concern
is the potential danger of VLF/ELF E-field emissions.
Ergoware Radiation/Glare filters were specifically developed to eliminate these
problems. Installation is simple. With our universal mounting mechanism and various sizes,
filters mount easily on most monitors with a near perfect fit. Ergoware Radiation/Glare
filters provide long term eye protection while minimizing eyestrain and fatigue.
