From boxes and binders under the table to massaging, adjustable products,
footrests can reduce leg strain and promote circulation.
In order to position yourself at the correct height for your upper body (keyboard
and monitor interaction), you may need to raise your chair. By doing so, there may be
excessive strain on the legs and lower back if your feet can longer comfortably rest on
the floor. To compensate, perhaps you slouch or scoot forward on your chair, which are
unhealthy postures.
A footrest should position your knees to roughly form a 90 degree angle. This will
increase circulation in the lower legs by allowing you to keep both feet firmly supported.
Adjustable footrests offer the most flexibility.

Foot Rest
A chair correctly positioned for the upper body could be a source of strain on the
lower body. Much of this strain is caused by a chair which is too high for the user's feet
to rest flat on the floor. A Foot Rest solves this problem by raising the surface the
user's feet rest on. The ErgoWareŽ brand Foot Rest offers a unique solution by
incorporating rolling balls into an adjustable foot rest. These balls massage the feet and
improve circulation while reducing strain on the legs and back.
